Rolls-Royce honors Arab inventor
The British ultra-luxury car maker has unveiled the new Bespoke Rolls-Royce Ghost vehicles, which honor the legendary Arab inventor Abbas Ibn Firnas.
Firnas is regarded as the first man in history to make scientific attempts at flying. A 9th century Arab inventor and poet during the Ummayad Dynasty, Firnas made valuable contributions to the fields of physics, astronomy and chemistry. Firnas already enjoys a legendary status in Arab countries, with postage stamps, streets and airports named after him.
The bespoke Rolls-Royce Ghost Firnas Motif collection features a hand-painted twin coachline, finished with Firnas logo throughout the vehicle’s design. The car also boasts a personalized tread plate with the wings design and personalized message: “Firnas motif – one of five”. The new model was conceptualized by Kadhim Al Helli, Rolls Royce brand manager at Abu Dhabi Motors and has been hand-crafted by specialists at Rolls-Royce facility in Goodwood, England.
Rolls-Royce bespoke program is offered to the car maker’s clients who specify features of the car and wish to create their own customized model. The specialists at Rolls-Royce then strive hard to find new paints, materials and engineering solutions that meet the unique demands of each client.
Arno Husselmann, general manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, believes that,”it is hard to ignore the synergies between him and the Rolls-Royce brand, which is rooted in the pioneering heritage of its founders, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce. This unique collection honours his achievements and encapsulates his bravery and innovation in the world’s most luxurious vehicle.”
The Bespoke Rolls-Royce Ghost Firnas Motif collection of vehicles is available exclusively through Abu Dhabi Motors, the sole dealer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Backed by a rising demand for luxury cars in the Gulf, Abu Dhabi Motors has recorded highest sales of Rolls-Royce bespoke vehicles for the past three years all over the world.
